Ronald E. Houser, Partner

Ron Houser concentrates on appellate and constitutional law issues for the firm, spending most of his time preparing appeals, researching precedents and uncovering obscure legal opinions he and his colleagues can use to clinch a case at trial or appeal. The remainder of his work is divided between criminal defense and civil plaintiff work.

Houser received a Master of Science degree from The Ohio State University, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri and a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law. He joined Cook Noell Tolley & Bates LLP in 1990, shortly after being admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. He also is a member of the Athens-Western Circuit Bar Association, the American Bar Association and National Lawyers Association.

The practice of law is a second calling for this Nebraska native, who left his veterinary practice to attend law school in the late 1980s.

Houser is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, earning the USAF Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the USAF Achievement Medal. He also is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserve.

Ronald E. Houser

While some lawyers relish arguing a case before a judge or jury, Ron Houser finds it equally fulfilling to pore over legal texts, seeking precedents and obscure legal opinions he and his colleagues can use to clinch a case the firm is preparing for trial or appeal.
